Leaping Deer has developed a performative experience workshop which enhances team building, leads to creative solutions, and is a lot of fun! The basis of the workshop is true, real stories - things that your staff have experienced, and to which they relate in a personal way. This gives them total ownership of the issues they use in the workshop, and leads to ownership of the creative solutions they may find,.

These stories are gathered anonymously and remain anonymous - no one will know whose stories they are unless the storyteller wishes them to. They can be about anything - either something that happens at work, or in their personal life. They can be good or bad.There does not have to be an obvious solution to a problem - it can just be a re-telling of an incident from their lives. The creativity and problem solving comes with the presentation of the story - the stories have to be expressed without words.

After introductions, and some ice breaking activities,each group is broken up into smaller groups of up to 7 people.  Each group is given one of the stories to perform, using props, music, dance, mime, electronic media such as power point(no text) etc but no voices. The challenge is to present an interesting and understandable piece, using the media they are given, which is creative and underpinned by teamwork. If a problem is identified in the piece, after performing for the rest of the workshop participants, we can facilitate a forum whereby everyone gets the chance to present a solution in a non verbal way. This helps people to think "outside the box" - not being able to communicate verbally sparks creativity.
